Just got a BV5800Pro, after my wide has been using a BV6000S for over a year
On the BV5800, I noticed that many applications aren't able to do background sync, when the phone is sleeping with display off.
I have noticed that:

1. In Aquamail, on two IMAP accounts. I configure a mail refresh every 15 mins. I come back 2 hours after, knowing that there are mails in the inboxes, and nothing in the app. Manually refreshing in the app, and then new mails appear
2. In DS_Cloud, the synchronisation of files with my Synology NAS do not work in the background. I have to go into DS_Cloud and manually sync
3. GMail is not syncing my gmail or exchange mailbox in the background either. When I open the app, then I see new mails being downloaded

• I have selected these 3 apps and declared them as "not optimized in settings -> battery -> battery optimization. Still no luck
• I have also tried to turn off Setting -> Battery -> Standy Intelligent Power Saving, but no luck
• I have reinstalled the apps, and even done a new install on the phone, no luck

I am migrating from a Samsung Galaxy S6, so I can certify that there is no issue on the server side, since background sync was working fine on the Samsung. It is also working find for my wife's applications on the BV6000S

Is there a setting somewhere to modify? Is it a known issue that will be adressed in a further OS update? Is there a log or anything I can do to assist devs in troubleshooting the issue?

Your apps get killed by the background app clear feature. You'll have to whitelist them

I don't see this feature on the 5800.
It exists on the wife BV6000 but not on mine. Our it's hidden somewhere I didn't find

I have noticed an improvement by turning duraspeed off for these 3 apps. Is this what Duraspeed is supposed ot do? limit background functionnalities?

Here is what I see in settings:

try to find such option pressing the "menu/app list" button near your "home" button.
Duraspeed will increase CPU priority for different apps. But it will not do the trick you are looking for.

Just thought I'd post an update. The processes were either slowed or blocked by Duraspeed
The background sync now works , but I had to take all the following steps
1) disable battery optimization for selected apps (DS_Cloud, GMail, Aquamail & Aquamail Pro unlocker)
2) enable background activity on the few apps where this setting appears (it doesn't appear on all apps in Android)
3) disable duraspeed for the apps where I want background sync.

I have other problems still lingering with bluetooth playback on some devices, and now I chose to completely disable Duraspeed. It's still not 100% but my music playback from spotify hangs much more occasionally. Before changes, playback was hanging almost 100% of the time, and after a few reconnects, the Pioneer car stereo would just stop trying, and block its bluetooth module with an ERROR -10
