On the 7.0 it was vibrating only after fingerprint has been recognized. Now on OREO, it vibrates every time I take the phone in any hand and accidentally run the wrong fingers on the scanner surface. Actually, it is kind of annoying, and it also waste the battery. It would be nice, if there will be an option to disable vibration at fingerprint recognition at all.

I noticed that too. The same vibration pattern even sometimes appears when i just turn off the screen. really annoying.

I can confirm this also. Sometimes I pull the phone out of my pocket and I cannot unlock it with my finger because there were already too many failed attempts.
