Some useful tips:

1) Use the Opencamera App instead of the stock camera app. It usually works better!

2) Set your photo settings to the maximum quality and resolution.

3) Set your ISO setting as lowest as possibile. Be careful: shooting at low isos your hands MUST BE FIRM.

4) Play with the focus settings depending on your target.

5) Avoid low light/artificial light conditions. Smartphones usually struggle at it!

Open Camera is definitely a must as the standard Blackview camera app is terrible and buggy.

I tried Camera FV-5 / FV-5 Lite, both do not work well on the BV8000 Pro, slow and ISO settings do not work.

Open Camera (ISO and WB settings can be adjusted)

The only thing I don't understand, the max camera resolution shows 21Mp 6144 x 3456 instead of 16Mp.
Photos also come out as 6144 x3456 too :)

Blackview's camera app can produce good results as long as you do not use the AUTO mode (photo Vs Pro photo) but the biggest issue is the sluggish performance.

Both taken in low light conditions, ISO100, WB AUTO, resized to 1920x1080.

BV8000 Pro installed to "Open Camera", does not save pictures from the front camera. Help!

Yeah, i can reproduce such bug. Opencamera developers have to fix that with an update, there's nothing we can do for the moment.
