Re: Upgrade to Android 9.0 for P60 version

Serge, good to hear from you, and thank you for the links.

I have just spent all day trying to get turn this thing into a smartphone. But I don't think its possible.

I installed your Android9 for P60 again, and that is great. But I need autostart apps for security cameras that I monitor. So I followed your link to the build.prop mods, and I did that.

And they work, and that is great! But now I have a phone that is rooted and with an unlocked bootloader, and so GooglePay will not work. I need google pay for my work also!

I have been searching for a way to mod build.prop without root, but I can't find one.
I have been searching for a way to root without unlocking bootloader, but I can't find one.
I have been searching for a way to replace the FreeManager without root, but I can't find one.
I have explored Magisk for a way to hide the unlock from GooglePay, but it seems that is no longer possible.
I thought maybe the I could modify build.prop in the image file before installation, but I can't find any way.

I don't want root, and I don't want an unlocked bootloader, is there any way to get this rom with the autostart problem fixed before I install it?

God this is sooooo frustrating!

If someone can provide me a solution I will give you €50... And Blackview should give you a job!

Please help.
Best regards,
Tom.

So I've followed the above and installed this on my P60 model....
This is what I have to do to get the phone into fastboot.
adb reboot bootloader
Then these commands all error.
fastboot oem device-info (failed (remote: unknown command)
fastboot oem unlock (failed (remote: unknown command)
I cant get the phone into fastboot or recovery using the volume keys, it just doesn't work.
So I cant Root it which is annoying and I can't get Twerp recovery installed due to the above problems.
Any ideas?

These are not true ADB teams, these are old teams for an older android!
Here I described the instructions in detail, you can use the online translator !?
fastboot devices    (проверка соединения с устройством)
fastboot flashing unlock   (разблокировка/подтверждаем кнопкой "+")
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img   (прошивка образов)
fastboot oem reboot-recovery            ( перезагрузка в режим recovery,прямо из под fastboot)
These are the basic commands that you may need.
Also do not forget who has windows 10,
you need to find instructions in gpoogle on how to run the CMD console on it, because PowerShell does not support these commands

Why do you think so?? Have you checked ??
Why does it work for me ??
In addition, unlocking the bootloader is nothing to worry about! And the root of the law can be removed. To do this, flash the original boot .img into the smartphone and the root of the rights will not be in your smartphone !!
I don’t understand why everything works for me, even with access root ??

I have now.

I tried setting up a card in GooglePay and I received a message saying:

Couldn't finish setup to pay in shops... This phone can't be used to pay in shops. This may be because it is rooted or altered in some other way.

So I can re-flash 'boot' sector? Is that enough? When I do a root test, it says I don't have root because I removed Magisk, but I still fail gpay test. I think it is the bootloader unlock, but you have that unlocked as well, and your gpay works?
To try to reflash boot I use spflashtool and choose which options?

Thanks.

No, I can't get gpay to work after unlocking.

On boot I have 'orange state' message saying phone cannot be trusted.

When trying to use gpay I get a message telling me my phone cannot be used to pay in shops this may be because it is rooted or altered in some other way.

I also have massively increased battery usage. Previously I would have about 50% remaining at the end of the day. Now with the autostart apps I empty the battery before the end of the day. Have you experienced this?

Can you give explain the steps you have taken to get everything working in the right order?

Cheers,
Tom. (Still trying)

Serge,

I have just found the no-root way to autostart apps. So I have done this and don't need to unlock bootloader.

Please, can you send my 'thanks' to Klud as I am not able.

Of course, my thanks to you also for all your help.

I think I now have all I need, but it is late and I will have to check tomorrow.

Regards,
Tom.

This method has long been described on the resource 4pda
ссылка:
for android 8 root rights are not needed !! The system has an application for managing auto start but for some reason it’s hidden, there is no shortcut on the desktop.
called FreeManager application. with the help of third-party utilities, you need to create a shortcut for this application and in it already note what should work after rebooting the device.
Here in more detail:
I repeat, this method only works on android_8
alternative way to create a shortcut to hidden applications:
need Nova Launcher,  link to video instruction

Marek85, yeah as Serge says, he is the master after all! I used his links in the first place and continued to browse that Russian PDA forum. They are pretty hardcore modders over there. If you browse using google to translate the pages it is mostly legible. (Or maybe you speak fleunt Russian). There are links to the various solutions posted on the various issues. The site is well organised. Once I understood the steps it was easy.

The phone does seem to do most things like it should now. I'm still a bit suspect of background activity. Quite often I'll take my phone out of my pocket, unlock and suddenly 'receive' a couple of notifications. But it does ok. Although DS Photo doesn't manage to autostart photobackup. It still decides it is in silent or vibration mode when it feels like it (even when it clealy shows it is in ringer mode and the volume is show set correctly). And I have some connectivity probs - if I leave it in 4G preferred mode it doesn't connect to my home 3G femtocell, it prefers to sit patiently waiting for a 4G mast to be erected in a nearby field! And a power on/off is still required to resolve the various quirks once every few days. BUT, I do manage to use it now.

Good luck,
Tom.
