I have tried the spflashtool too just to be sure. I cant even get as far as needing the drivers as when i try to select 'MT6757_Android_scatter.txt' I get Error:initializing scatter file failed. Please check the name of scatter file which you load is legal.
I think hope is lost at this point of blackview ever getting an update out or for a way for those without exceptional computer skills to get this new ROM.
I have contacted blackview asking for them to repair my phone with an upgrade back to 7 if i post it out to them. I'll keep my fingers crossed they can do this and i can at least then sell the phone.
Thanks anyway for trying to help!

Make sure that all the programs (flashtool and checksum) are the same version of that shown in the tutorial.

Download the official file of Android 7 of December 2018, then open the flashtool of the tutorial and follow all the steps, DO NOT USE ANY OTHER SOFTWARE!
If this doesn't work you can try to follow this guide: https://romprovider.com/2017/07/firmwar ... v8000-pro/

The Link to the drivers through https://romprovider.com/2017/07/firmwar ... v8000-pro/  does not work i get No mirrors found.
Does anyone know of another driver or version of this driver that would do the same job, that would run on a windows 10 lenovo yoga 530?
I can get the drivers on to the machine but they just do not work.  As soon as i plug my phone into my computer i get The latest usb device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, windows does not recognise it.
Why on earth are the drivers not built in to the flash tool?

Write the entire step that you do to try to flash the new ROM. Did you turn off the device and press the volume key before connecting to your PC?

Step 1: After download your respect "MT65xx" and "MT67xx" drivers from above direct links, Go to "VCOM" folder, and right Click on "InstallDriver.exe" file within that folder, and click on "Run as administrator".

Step 2: You will get the message saying "Install USB Driver for Microsoft Windows 7(64-bit) successfully."

Step 3: Now right click on "Computer" icon, go to "Manage", on left side click on "Device Manager", and then go to "Action" option and click on "Add legacy hardware".

Step 4: New window will open, Click "Next", and select option "Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced)", then again click "Next".

Step 5: Select "Shot All Devices" option, and press "Next" button, now click "Hard Disk" button and browser to your downloaded "Driver Folder" and locate the file based on your Windows version under "VCOM" folder. If you're on Windows 7 and have 64-bit version, select file "usb2ser_Win764.inf", similarly if you have 32-bit version, select file "usb2ser_Win7.inf". Windows 7 drivers will perfectly run on Windows 8, 8.1, and Windows 10 operating systems as well.

Step 6: After opening .inf file, Select "MediaTek PreLoader USB VCOM Port" or "MediaTek DA USB VCOM Port" driver from the list. Make sure to install one driver at a time, you can install other driver if your selected one doesn't work; otherwise installation of one driver is enough.

Step 7: Now click on "Next" button to finish driver installation. You will see ""MediaTek PreLoader USB VCOM Port" driver appears on "Device Manager" screen. At any stage you get Code 10 Error, just avoid it, and complete installation.

These are the instructions I have carefully followed. I do get the code 10 error.

I'm confident everything else is working its just the Drivers that malfunction. I have flashed samsung phones in the past with no problems.

Did you deleted the device like the tutorial and than connected the phone by keep pressing the volume key? Which error did you get?

Did you opened the checksum generator in the room folder?
