I have some pictures but am not sure how to share them on this forum. There's only the option for external pictures.

I recommend, since i know you have a Google account, using Drive and sharing the link.

Or YouTube a short video and share that link.

Cus I mean, if a picture's worth a thousand words, what's thirty frames per second at 1080p worth?

About the camera lens glass... this set is equipped with 3m Glue strips:

But if you want to be sure about keeping the phone waterproff, you have 2 choices:

1) Buy the B7000 siliconic glue and apply it under the camera glass

2) Buy a new spare back cover, wich comes together with the original sealant pad. Unfortunately the original sealant part isn't available to be bought alone.
You can find thousands of back covers here.....

Hi,

I've ordered one without the adhesive pad cut to the shape of glass. Set of narrow adhesive stripes were added instead. I decided not to use them because I wouldn't be sure if it could be sealed well afterwards. I mounted the glass using silicone. Silicone layer is thinner than adhesive pad, the glass sits deeper and is now better protected but the LED lens extrudes a bit. There is a danger that it could be dented. If one likes smooth surface, a pad should be used.

When opening the phone, don't forget to remove the antenna seal's screw :)

As you can see, there's nothing at the bottom of the SMA connection. After watching your videos, I'm not going to take it apart. I will need to maintain the waterproof feature of the phone.

I think I'm just going to try & get the broke glass off by heating it up a bit. Then clean the residue off & use the recommended glue.

Or I will find a local repair place that may take the project on but I don't want to waste anymore money on this phone.

Once it's fixed, I think I may sell it. I don't trust it anymore. It's a great design, but the tiny things that were overlooked are to much.... headphone jack & camera glass NOT being the same as the screen. Then the poor support afterwards.

Yeah, no, that's the right part! The daughtercard with the radio has three spring-load wiper-style contacts that just touch the underside of that connector. I can validate that as I have used the radio to successfully make contacts with other hams through a couple of local repeaters using an external homemade antenna, and I have had an SWR/power meter attached externally that showed RF energy flowing through the connected coax, so that's definitely enough contact even if it doesn't seem like or. When you put the daughter card back in the case you can see the spring contacts take on the pressure for positive contact. There is nothing to solder: it just goes on.

That said, you're wise not to take it apart unless you have something like a thin caulk you can apply. I've now made my phone worthless twice now taking it under water. This last time I have not yet been able to recover it yet (but I've been busy). That said, I just purchased a Baofeng UV-B5 that frankly is a better radio than the BV, even if not by much, and that was honestly the only thing making the BV worth having as it's certainly not as rugged as advertised and that was the only other reason to have it. So I might just not worry about repairing it. I'm tired of futzing with it.
