Hi Neville. mine is also giving me a huge headache with a faulty mic. Can you help me by sending a photo or ref of that (new) charging board?
i'm from Portugal and it will be lenty of expensive to sent it to china.. (and time consuming)
Thanks
There is a Russian teardown video of charge board replacement here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gqXcHqiPQA
Mic and speaker both get powered via chargeboard.
However, I DO now have a customer phone with distorted speaker that was NOT fixed by chargeboard replacement. Only option is to replace speaker. You have to dig it out, existing speaker will break, and clean out the sealant completely, then paste new sealant, insert new speaker, wait till it dries and reassemble. If you are not confident about doing that you will need to purchase a new back cover unit, which includes speaker and mic.
You can if you are careful do it yourself, but it involves stripping the entire phone down and reassembling it in new case. A wiser suggestion would be buy the back cover (USD30) and pay a professional phone repair store to do the work...an hour's labour.
Well, it took me 3 complete hours but I managed to replace the speaker. Now it works fine. As expected the problem with it was fine metal powder of grinding which reached to the speaker. Admin, can you please report that "problem" to the right department so you can design a phone completely covered by these kind of "accidents". It would be a must among us people working in metal industry and for me a replacement phone after the BV8000 Pro I have now.
Yeah, metal grinding dust is a known issue!
