Phone not turning on anymore.

Tue May 24, 2016 7:19 pm

Hello,

Since i started to use Android 6.0, there is slow charging or no charging, depends.
Today my battery went dead and phone shutdown it self, i put it to charge and charged for good 3-4 hours.
I wanted to flash my phones ROM so i checked if i could turn it on again, nothing.
I unplugged the cable and plugged it back, just vibration.
I took off battery and put it in again while phone was charging, just vibration.
Took both off, counted to 30 secs and put back, nothing really.
Can someone help me.
Since my friend uses the same phone and he didnt upgrade to 6.0 then he just gives his full battery
to me and i get it working but my friend comes in 2 days and i want to get my phone
work again before that. Thanks for help if i get :).

Hi, I think your battery has gone below the minimum charging voltage, so the charger circuit refuses to start. It happened to me.

The battery has the polarity indicated on it (the plus and minus signs). You can check it with a tester. Without load the voltage should be 3.5 ÷ 4.2 V. If it's below 3.5v, that's likely too low and the charger refuses to start.

If you know some basics about electricity and are comfortable enough around a tester, you can take out the battery from the phone and jumpstart charge it with an external charger. In order to do that, I "butchered" an old smartphone charger by cutting off original DC plug and using the wires to connect directly to the battery. Any small 5V power supply will do, as long as it isn't rated above 5V or above 1A, because using something bigger would fry the battery.

I temporarily taped the wires to the battery, respecting the polarity and avoiding short circuits. The battery voltage during charge slowly increases - I suggest measuring it at regular intervals. In my case, 3.8V battery voltage was good enough for the phone charger to work again (3.45V wasn't). It took about 40 minutes to get there with a 500mA power supply. In any case, just absolutely avoid going over 4.35V.

I had the same issue with my BV 5000. The problem was solved with old AC/DC charger less than 0.6A power connected to phone Micro USB port. The phone is still not charging properly. But it can maintain vital functionality till my return from business trip or phone image will be corrected by company.
