Every day a new (unwanted) game is automatically installed?

Sat Apr 23, 2016 3:26 pm

Hi there,
I only have my phone for about 6 weeks or so. Over the last week, every morning my phone started installing a new game automatically. I only noticed because of my ES App scan which started to prompt me to scan the new app. I always happens in the morning. From the short time monitoring this, it seems to be related to / triggered by SmartCardServices (V3.1.0.20.17). My data usage app indicates that when I take my phone off flight mode (after the night), it "consistently" consumes around 7MB of Wifi Data. After a reboot this behavior starts (automatically). When I manually kill the app, the next days onwards, no games are being installed.
As the above service is not downloaded but in the ROM, it begs the question, if the phone came with this pre-installed?
Of course, it is also possible, that another malicious app has caused this behavior but non of the virus scanners I tried have detected ANYTHING out of the ordinary.
Googling for this doesn't seem so uncommon however, I have not yet traced this back to be an issue specifically with the Blackview phone.
Does anyone else have a similar issue or can give a recommendation on what to do to "fix this" other then manually killing the service mentioned (it is supposedly necessary to "talk" to my SIM card, but have not yet found any negative behaviour from killing the service - the phone works normally for voice and data).
THANKS!
Robert

Hi,

have you try to close the unknown source option via safety item on setting menu ? It may help to solve the problem.

Best regards,

I had the same issue. Appeared that some software on my laptop was installing them via the market. My solution was to change the google account password from the phone browser and not login from the laptop. It's been a week now without new apps. I still haven't had time to clean the laptop and find what exactly does this.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for your replies!

@blackview_admin, yes, the option for "install from unkown source" is deactivated.

hi @ale228
That is a scary thought that a desktop app/hack would do that!
I will try and change my Google password on my phone!
thanks!

I was helping another guy on this board with another issue, and I came across your problem. It's a malware in the app jk_quicksearchbar.apk
Another fella had the same issue, and he was able to eliminate it via installing a root and with the new access killing the offending apk and be done with it.

Here is his post regarding it.

I downloaded Kingroot from here and fired it up, you will need to have "Install unknown apps" enabled again to install it. But it installed for me, and hopefully it'll work for you.
