startup apps

Hi,
Does anyone know how to have apps automatically open on startup? I have a lot of apps (clock [for alarms], myradar, and whatsapp for example) that will not run after restarting the phone unless manually opened. Does anyone know how to have apps open automatically? I've been late for work and missed crucial coorespondence as a result of this. Anyone know how to have these apps open automatically on startup? Thank you!
