Just to be clear, the issue I'm having is with playing video, namely from YouTube etc. Though from what I can tell, videos recorded using the phone's camera seem to play back more or less smoothly on the device itself.

I'd rather not if it's all the same. I don't really want to be sending videos to strangers across the Internet, and besides, I don't have anything to film that could adequately demonstrate stuttering during movement anyway. But like I say, recorded video via my phone doesn't seem to have any noticeable issues.
I was hoping that there'd be an easy solution to this, but if not I'll just hope that a future update fixes things.
