BV9900 Voicemail not saving new phone number

Hi, I have the new BV9900 with Android 10. Since getting the phone, voicemail *86 has not worked. It returns 'The number cannot be completed as dialed, please check the number and try your call again'. I have found a way to make it work by replacing *86 with my own mobile number, however, that will only work for a period of time before it gets automatically changed back to *86. 2 questions, why does *86 not work (AT&T says it should) and why does the phone change it back to *86 after I modify it in the voicemail advanced settings?
Thanks in advance, Dennis

Update from OP: Still having this problem. *86 gives msg 'Call cannot be completed as dialed....' *PLUS* I too am starting to have random shutdowns. I thought it was due to my inadvertantly pressing and holding the power button while carrying the phone, but, I have confirmed instances where this is *not* the case. It was working and the it wasn't. So, with these issues, I am starting to not like this phone.
RE: going to post sales for support, I did, and below was the response I got (verbatim)....
Please insert sim card, delete +86 , change it to your country code.
I have no idea what that means. My country code is 1 (USA)... That does nothing but give me an error... I responded that I did not understand with the following...
Sorry, but your instruction is not clear. The SIM card is inserted. The phone works fine otherwise. The voicemail setting was *86, not +86. And, for the USA (country code: 1), are you
saying enter '+186'? or +1 only? neither of these options work.
I have been able to get the Voicemail function to work by setting the Voicemail number in 'phone/settings/voicemail/advanced settings/voicemail number' to my mobile number. However,
after a while, when I try to use again, it has been changed back to *86. The voicemail number is definitely changed back to *86 on a reboot of the phone, am not sure if it eventually gets
changed back without reboot.
The 2nd response from post sales was... (again verbatim)
check phone contacts-settings-voicalmail-advanced settings-set up- change voicemail number *86 or +86 to your country area code.
I am now pretty sure that the number is getting changed back due to the random shutdowns for the phone.
If anyone at BV is monitoring this site and can provide assistance, please do.
Thanks again in advance, Dennis
