Type-C and IP68

Mon May 04, 2020 3:41 pm

Hello.
Previous phones had an open Type-C connector, without a plug. BV9800 has rubber plug on Type-C again as it was on micro-USB.
Does it mean that with an open plug water will injur Type-C?
 or
Type-C on this phone is water resistant, but the plug makes additional safetyness?

Best answer ever

The phone is water resistant on his own, the plastic plug is additional protection against dust and water.
If water get in the USB-C port, it will not damage the phone but you need to clean it and dry it as soon as possible.
If the port is wet too for long, the phone can put the charging port in protected mode and you need to restart the phone to be able to charge it again.
