I've noticed that I have to manually kill A LOT of my apps because none of them seemed to go to sleep.  Try going into the app section of settings, find the FLIR app, and "force close" the app.  I've found that apps like Servicely automatically force close apps when the screen is off.  It's saved a crap ton of my battery while I'm not using my phone.

The latest version of the ROM has an option under setting called DuraSpeed.  I have been using it and I can get 4 days off a single charge with light use.  If you carry over apps from a previous phone, they may be draining your battery.  There is an option in android to look at the app usage of your battery.

The latest ROM image works relatively fine for me.  No debilitating issues yet.
