GPS not working well since last update

Fri Aug 02, 2019 9:29 am

Hello!
Nearly two months ago i bought the BV9500. All worked fine since now. I don't know exactly but i think that since last OTA update my GPS stopped working well, running very weak when phone is in use. I am running Sygic as Navigation and it cannot find any satellites also not with MobiWIA app for hours especially in movement. It is searching the position for hours. Do you know how to proof it? Maybe the GPS Chip is defective since i recognized it seems to be a thermal problem when getting warm in use... If i turn it off and let it cool, sometimes that helps and i can get it running, but the signal is weak. For navigation it is momentarily a useless phone.
My old BV6000 works well with the same apps. System OS on 9500 is BV_BV9500_V1.0_20190320
It would be helpful if it is a software or hardware failure that can be fixed or i have to send the phone back to the dealer and start installation from scratch what i want to avoid.
Thank you for your reply!

Thank you for your quick answer. Kind of mysterious... I tried to calibrate the compass and as soon i press the calibration button it starts to vibrate and says calibration success, no Fig 8 movement possible, too quick. Restarted the phone, then no calibration possible whether in system app nor with MobiWia. Restart again, calibrationtime is very short again with success, but shows wrong direction. 3x calibration, 3x different directions. What now? MobiWia couldn't find & show any sensors, after the restart again, all worked inkl. calibration. Will give the navigation a try and see if it works flawless. Do you think hardware or software?

Doesn't help. Compass calibrated, erased all GPS A-Data. When GPS is activated, it fails after 1 minute navigation and searches satellite position over and over for hours. Restart doesn't help also. Will send the phone back. My old BV6000 works very well in the same condition.

Same problem with Google maps.
Calibration ok. But still the same issue, signal lost or big lag.
I've tried hard reset already, and it's since the last update.

May I know your version number?

Hi, for better navigation, we need to calibrate the compass every time you restart the phone.
