Sound going up and down and switching on and off is caused by dirty USBC contacts. Clean with a non conductive item like a wooden tooth pick and spray with wd40 or contact cleaner. And it fixed a load of other problems. The contacts were going green on my BV9600. Looks like it causes a low voltage short
