Re: Any news on OTA?

Hello,

For now I have nothing to bring to my phone but this lack of update (android and especially security patch) will be the reason that my next phone will no longer be a blackview. It's a shame, they are good phones but with a very limited support not to say non-existent.

The Bv97000 has a security patch that dates from March 2019.

The update is planned, according to the technical service, for its weekend in OTA

Update received today on my phone.
bv9700Pro_EEA_S41_V1.0_20191015V6
Security version: August 2019

Image

Duration of the update +/- 10 minutes (download, installation, restart)
Battery usage 4%
It is unfortunate that the security version has not been updated, for example that of October 2019.

For other modifications:
  • a program in addition to translation
  • a child mode that appeared.
  • a digital wellness mode (to be discovered)
Some settings in settings> smart-assistant> app blocker are modified, which causes problems with some widgets. They must be reintroduced.

@caraboa thanks for the annoucment and overview what was done. i am already happy they didn't let the security-update complete untouched, however, you are right, hope they bring it in a next update - also the other features looks nice :)

just guessing, but i think about 2 points:
1. you will propaply need the (meanwhile pre-)last update to receive this one. i can recommend you this local update: https://www.needrom.com/download/blackv ... 700-pro-2/ . please reconize in the description, this is marked for europe! i saw a russian version on needrom as well and have no clue if there is another for america.
2. according to his footer, caraboa is from france, me from switzerland. sometimes, such updates come in region-dependend waves. maybe it's a such case?

Thanks, but I actually received the first OTA before the Europe one, but since then it was not full, because I don't have the night camera app on toolbox and there was not upgrade in the standard camera as it was mentioned

as I blocked the system updates automatically, I still have an alert when one is available, I do not know the version because if I open it will launch the update, which I do not want without being sure that she is reliable.
I am in France, and I understand that some of the same country have done, you can confirm and give us a feedback please?

I did the update, I saw some minor changes, the security version is August (there is progress), and for now no problem.

Still nothing for America ( Mexico) and there is no post or answer from support department.
I'm happy with the phone, but not so sure about if I'll prefer to have no support, so thinking a lot about getting a new blackview at all.
