Possible solution. I tried all scenarios I could think of including a factory reset. What worked for me was I removed the sim card tray. Using a very small torx screwdriver, removed the 2 aluminum side covers (3 screws ea) and the back cover (8 screws). The thin plastic tool that came with the phone to open the sim card slot, works well to split the phone halves. Wireless charging receiver is glued inside the back cover. You can see the connections above and below the receiver and they make contact to spring loaded pins on the battery side. I lightly cleaned the receiver contacts with rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip. Then I just lightly pushed the spring loaded pins up and down to make sure they spring out correctly. Reassembled the phone and wireless charging works once again. To confirm, I discharged to around 50% battery and wireless charged to 100%.
