I'm completely new in this, so please forgive me for the questions that may irritate more than one here.
Where can I find the boot image?

Also, I am a Mac user, is there a way I can use a tool such as ADB to perform the flash that is described here?

Last but not least, do you know where we can find the official sock rom for the BV6800? 

I'm from the iOS world, and looking online for this information seems to yield 90% of garbage with strange apps that are hard to trust.

Thank you for any pointers you may have. I am blind, so command line utilities would be preferred.

Ok, so i need windows. But where can i find what is referred to as the boot image?

As I said in my first post, you need to extract it from your phone. If you kept it, you can also find your boot image in the last update.zip you use to update your phone.
I can try to post my extracted images here but you need to be sure you are patching and flashing the right version.
Post your full ROM version (NOT the build number!) and I'll check if I have this boot image.
Settings > System > About phone > Wireless Update

I know. But since they don't support the s8 at all, i have to read and borrow stuff from other models.
