I have seen the video...I have a hotplate for phone screens.... video said 3-5 mins at 100... doesn't work. Left it 10 to 15... doesn't work. Cranked it up in stages to 126 and still won't separate. Anyone tried?

Hi, did you get it off? I've got a cracked rear glass and totally failed rear speaker, so I've ordered a new rear assembly and am waiting on arrival. But of course that is no use if they won't separate. Any news?

YES, but not in one piece!

Last night I decided to give it a go as my phone speaker no longer worked at all and I had received my replacement rear glass and 'complete' rear panel.
I used my 3D printer hotbed at pre-heated to 100°C for 5 minutes and my suction cup to pull just like in the video...
Only the video is clearly of a parallel universe where things work.

Nothing happened, so I left it longer, still nothing, then a bit hotter, nothing.

So I stuck a flathead screwdriver through the speaker slot and twisted and just started breaking up the glass. I had to use the heat bed as well, which does soften the glue. After slowly levering off about a million various sized pieces it did all come off completely.

Then a bit of cleaning up followed by removing the tiny silicone covered screws - note all are torx except one crosshead for who knows what reason!

The rear comes off easily, just make sure to leave the gasket in place. I used a little silicone grease on the gasket on re-assembly to ensure a good seal.

If changing your rear panel, ensure that you swap over all missing components on the new one! I was expecting it to be complete, but whilst it had the rear mic, and speaker, it was missing the QI charging coil, and the antenna. Both of which were supper fiddly and fragile to peel off and re-stick without damage.

I used B-7000 adhesive to glue the camera lens and rear glass back into place rather than the supplied double sided tape, just felt a bit better to spread the load.

The phone is now as good as new... feel free to interpret that as you will!
