A friend of mine bought a samsung (Galaxy-A7) with Android 8.0 installed... After creating a new google account and activating it, he got an automatic update to Pie 9.0 over night! Without any complications...

Chances are it won't. The Plus has been cancelled and most effort has now been put into the BV5500,
BV9700 and BV9800. It's rare that any rugged phone manufacturer upgrades the O/S after the phone is released. You'll see bug fix updates but nothing beyond that I'm afraid.

They also promised a BV9600 Plus, but that's been scrapped. I'm sure if they were still working on it we'd see Pie on both the Pro and Plus but things change.

Upgrade to Pie was the main reason for me to buy bv9600pro!!!
