I had a communication with Blackview Sophia before. I tried for days, weeks, I forget how long... back and forth, one e-mail a day, because I type while they sleep and they type while I sleep (opposite sides of the world, of course). The problem I was complaining about is a technical one, which I'm 100% certain can be solved in software. Unfortunately, 156.73 percent of people reached through "support" channels are little more than warm-body note-takers who just forward the note on to technicians and engineers ----- **IF** they deem the note worthy. But when they don't understand the problem, well, it goes nowhere.
In my case, the people answering the "sophia" e-mail account did not understand my issues. They have ZERO clue about the two-way radio feature, and I'm convinced they thought my problem was that the people on the other end of the radio communication couldn't hear me because I used a different send and receive frequency (which is what you have to do with repeaters and is, in fact, why you can do different send and receive frequencies). They were convinced that was my problem and every reply they sent me after that was "please make sure the send and receive frequency the same". I even spent a couple hours using Google Translate in both directions to try to ease the language difficulties but that seemed to do nothing. Maybe it even offended them, I have no idea. I was just trying to be helpful.
I even gave them a video, showing that the problem had nothing at all to do with frequencies I use, but rather had to do with the fact that eventually, if you add one too many "Device Area" groups, your radio locks up and won't initialize and the only way to fix it is to delete app data (and all your hard work entering frequencies to use).
They couldn't (or wouldn't) understand.
I also had a question about the CTCSS tones, but they have Z-E-R-0 clue about what that even is and couldn't understand anything about what I was asking, and even asked me why I wanted to know the information.....
uhhhhh.... because repeater CTCSS tones are audio frequencies like "67.0 Hz" and "127.3 Hz", not numbers like "1", "20", etc. and I had no way of knowing what table I find online would match, perhaps? But they're not technical. They can't understand.
Anyway
Yeah, Blackview's after-sale support, while it appears they try, I find lacking in quality. The language barrier I think is a big part of the problem (or, they're hiding behind it to avoid tough fixes perhaps, I don't know). Blackview_Admin here at least seems to have a decent grasp of English, enough for effective communication. The people answering the blackview.hk e-mail addresses, on the other hand, again while they try, they just fall short.
This is just my experience. Someone speaking fluent Chinese might have a better time getting the idea across, but alas, I do not.
