My new bv9500 hotspot function is not working. It connects to the computer but the Internet doesn't work. I have tried a factory reset but its still not working. WiFi works fine but not hotspot. How can i fix it?

Hi there. Such issue is related to your phone carrier settings. You'll have to contact it.

In my case, there should be no problem, since the apn settings allow for both Chinese phones and wifi hotspot. Still no luck getting this to work. What part of the firmware is making this incompatible?

I have the same problem, and is not related to the phone company. I have the same config in BV8000pro and in this phone works.

So, it seems as if it's a bit more complicated than first it seemed. For some reason, I can connect my PlayStation 4 to the hotspot and have internet, but only if I create the connection manually on the PS4. Automatic connection won't allow internet access. Also, manually creating the connection didn't work with any other devices, only with PS4.

For those of you trying to figure this out, the device connects to the phone's hotspot fine, correct?  And then the device cannot reach the Internet through the phone?

Does the phone still have Internet at that point?

If you connect the computer to the phone's hotpsot, then examine the computer's network settings (command prompt -->  "ipconfig"), what are the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway assigned to the computer's wireless adapter?  Can you ping the computer's address from the phone using a network toolkit app downloaded from Play store?  Can you ping the phone's address (should be the gateway as seen in the computer's wireless adapter config while connected to the phone's hotspot) from the computer?

If you CAN ping the phone's address, can you also ping, say, www.google.com?  IF NOT, what if you ping the ip address directly, 172.217.1.238?  Or another ip address, 8.8.8.8?

I'm not sure if this is the same for everyone, but this is what happens for me:
I can connect to the wifi hotspot as per normal. The phone still has internet, but doesn't share it with the hotspot. Hence, devices connected to the hotspot can ping IP addresses which are part of the wifi network, but cannot ping or access anything past the gateway.
