[TRACKED] Camera Focus (BV9500)

Thu Jan 24, 2019 12:08 am

Hi there. I have a BV9500 (not Pro) model since almost a month and, although I'm all-in-all happy with it, there is a certain issue with the camera focus bugging me since I started using the camera function. Note that I've been using the Open Camera App since almost day one, as I've read on the forums that it should yield better results than the stock App.

My issue is pretty much the same as the one described in this post on the BV6800 sub-forum. I hope it gets solved on further updates.

Thanks for your time.

P.S: just to clarify, the issue happens with either stock and Open Camera App.

Only sometimes. I didn't believe it was a mistake.

I confirm the ficus problem.
In good light the camera focuses quite good but in darker conditions the focusing fails totally. Of course I understand the camera cannot focus on something it can barely see and CCD noises are stronger than the image is, but I talk about the situation when there is enough light so I can clearly see on the phone's screen how the camera is passing by the focus point even when I tap some contrasting area. I had no such issues in BV6000Pro I was using before.

When making a movie, the image is being "refocused" by blurring a bit for a moment every second. This is much more visible in worse light conditions.

Did you try if a factory reset + using open camera app solves the issue?

I have the same issues.
Stock app
Custom App
Especially when shooting videos, always out of focus.

I would love to see the Camera2 api with its "pro" mode and manual focus, if that's a possibility. [Feature Request]
