I installed a 128g micro sd card (sandisk extreme A2) and after rebooting a few times the phone asked me to format the card, which i did. Phone rebooted a few times more, settled down but no sign of the extra storage on the phone till a few hours later. This morning/today it's disappeared again. Any ideas?
This is in a 9500 (not pro) phone.

I can not find settings anywhere to handle sdcard.
There seems to be no way to detect let alone format an sd card in the settings.
I'm using a Samsung EVO high quality card which works fine in my other phones but does not appear to be detected at all in te BV9500 Pro.
Has anyone else successfully used an sd card in this model?

Try to install the SD card again in the slot. Be sure to set it correctly in its cage. If this doesn't work, try another SD card and report back.

Did that. It now shows up in settings>storage (which shows 2.7GB of system data on it) but not in file manager or when the phone is connected to a PC.
Not a clue how to actually store anything on the card......

Right. I've formatted it "as portable" and it now shows up in the phone and on PC.
It appears that it's got to be set as a portable storage medium in order to be accessable.
........not to see if I can get apps to save to it.

It was the phone that originally gave me the option to choose between formatting the SD card "as portable" or "internal memory". I chose the "internal memory" option initially.

This is normal too.

It is normal that apps and connected devices don't see the SD Card if set as "Internal Memory", anyway you can access it via the File Manager stock app.
Of course to make that visible in any case you have to set it as a portable memory. But like so you won't be able to store apps in the sd card, nor you could choose the sd card as the default camera/other app storage.
i'm using it as Internal Memory. Like so, if you connect the phone to a PC, and tap the Transfer File option on your phone, you will be able to access the sd card (and that only), by the file explorer.
