How would we be able to perform a reset if screen remains black ?
Or enter in safe mode ? Please advice...
After 12 hours of charge, notification light remains solid red.
I'm thinking this issue is related to battery failure ?

If after having charged your phone at least for 12 hours you can't boot it on, or you can't boot it in recovery mode to perform a factory reset from there, there's nothing more to do unfortunately.
The only thing to do would be contacting your seller to have the phone replaced under warranty, as it definitely is an hardware fault.
