I have the same compass issue but i think it is a software problem, i've tryed to disable intercom going in developper options, recalibrate the compass and it seems to work better now with minor
instability... anyway still not very precise but acceptable now

I've noticed that going in developper option and disabling the intercom on bv9500 pro than recalibrating the compass and now it is more stable and working better.
i would like to know if some other user found this usefull.. still needed a firmware fix since the problem should be software for sure. i love this phone anyway and having this issue almost made me think sadly to give it back since i really need the compass.. but i am happy that is working better the compass now and i wont give my bv9500po back since i love it..

same issue for me.
Also i tried to force OTA update by resetting phone to factory settings, but no update has been pushed to my phone

Stenfo, I tried it (I have my PTT button desactivated, and intercom is normally disable), but compass is not really accurate ! When I rotate the phone, the compass doen't keep North direction !
So it's really not usable for an outdoor rugged phone !
I understood Blackview has tracked this issue and just wait the firmare update we are all waiting since weeks !

Same here: re-calibrating the Compass gives different North each time, and then changes the North position at random... With ANY Compass app.

This is Sergio from Spain. New in the forum. Just want to give info about this issue. Please excuse my english, it's noy my native language.
Received my new 9500 pro, and same problem with compass BUT, only with some apps.
With "stock compass app", it works ok
With "GPS status" it works ok also.
But i tried with:
"AndroiTS"
"GPS essentials"
"GPS Test"
With the same erratic result.
If i return to stock or GPS status it works perfectly.
Android 8.1.0
Compilation V1.0_20180827
I tried also the "magnetized screw issue", but it seems not to be the fault reason.
