Hi there!
Being a rugged phone doesn't mean it can void the laws of physics, unfortunately.
No warranty can cover an issue like that, as you can understand.
The only thing to do is..... buy spare parts and repair it!

Here you can find a new display for about 35$ https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=0&initiative_id=SB_20190609015905&SearchText=bv9500+display
Here you can find new camera lens https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=0&initiative_id=SB_20190609015955&SearchText=bv9500+camera+lens

With 40$ you can globally repair your phone ;)

You are always quick to provide AliExpress links and suggest we spend more money, which is good and helpful... but the fact is, this device is marketed as being rugged and Blackview release videos on YouTube demonstrating drop tests, ruggedness tests, underwater tests in the ocean and aquariums, throwing the phone 20 feet/6-7 meters in the air....... If the phone cannot truly withstand these cases, then this is false advertising which, in the United States at least, is illegal. A device advertised as being capable of withstanding a 1.8 meter fall (which this is advertised as such) should have such cases covered under warranty by the manufacturer at least, if not by the seller.

To the OP: your **FIRST** course of action should be to contact your seller and file a warranty claim against the advertised capability of the phone and your discovery of its actually incapability. It may not get you anywhere, but if your seller is reputable, they should have no problem sending you the parts free of charge.

Again, being rugged can't mean it can handle e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. We know NOTHING about what really happened to the opening post's phone.
Many variables hide behind every shock/impact, nobody can guarantee that the phone can survive to all of them.
The only OFFICAL FACT is that the BV9500 is compliant with the MIL-STD-810 certification for shocks and impacts (Test Method 516.6 Shock) and IP69K.
Keep your phone inside such great limits and it will be safe. If you throw it from an elicopter.... it may survive... but you can't complain if the screen gets broken.
I hope you can understand what i'm saying.

I understand what you're saying and I agree on all counts.

That said, he said he dropped it while getting into his car. Same thing happened to me. These are not great drops and are far less harsh than what I saw on Blackview's YouTube channel demonstrating Blackview's very own testing of this device. You're right, not all the variables are known, but I can't see a three or four foot drop being any worse than Blackview's testing methods where the phone was dropped from something like ten or twelve feet (~~4 meters) straight down to a hard surface (going on memory here, but I thought it was cement).

To Blackview's credit though, when I dropped mine, I contacted.... Was it Sophia? And I was shipped not one but two replacement glasses and two foam adhesive pads as well as a replacement rear speaker free of charge, honoring the warranty. Good thing I received two camera glasses, too, as I needed to repeat the process a few weeks later (there's a reason I wanted a rugged device).

ON THAT NOTE....

I've seen multiple people with this problem order camera glass and they don't get the foam adhesive pads, or, they get simple strips that won't maintain the waterproofing seal that the OEM ones do. A couple of people have even asked me directly if I know of a source. Do you happen to have a source where the correct, properly-fitting, precut foam adhesive pads can be purchased?

These sets are equipped with 3m Glue strips:

But if you want to be sure about keeping the phone waterproff, you have 2 choices:
1) Buy the B7000 siliconic glue and apply it under the camera glass

2) Buy a new spare back cover, wich comes together with the original sealant pad. Unfortunately the original sealant part isn't available to be bought alone.
You can find thousands of back covers here.....

Shame that the pads aren't available. You'd think the glass supplier would have an appropriate die to cut new pads, too.

I was sure there would be a glue, but wasn't sure what it would be called. Thanks for that information.

I had considered the full covers, but the people contacting me had already purchased the glass separately. Plus, replacing the cover would void warranty if it hadn't been already. I think the glue is likely the best option in these cases.

Thanks again and I'll duck out now. I didn't mean to hijack the thread but I fear I may have. Hopefully it's good info for the OP as well though.

Cheers!

Instead of those pads I would use sanitary silicone. For a better fit, I would put some into a syringe, remove the metal needle from the plastic hose (i mean the plastic hose that is attached by glue to the metal part of the needle), optionally drill a slightly larger hole in the hose and push the silicone in a very slow and steady manner. Eventually putting a tiny drop every 1 or 2 mm and carefully taking out any unwanted amount of silicone. As for the screen, it would be less time consuming to order a new one. AFAIK no one gives warranty for broken screens, unless you pay for extra warranty.

What i can say about is:
during last 10 months i owned this phone, i dropped it in several conditions, i even (accidentally) hurled it far away from me. Dropped from a 2,5m ladder and so on.
Apart of some scratch and little dent on the edges, i never had a break.

BUT:
i wear from day one a 9H tempered glass screen protection (which has been damaged by shocks multiple times, preserving the original screen). I equipped the back camera glass with a plastic film (cutting it with scissors and cutter to exactly fit the glass), to prevent scratches. I also added in the last days a thin (about 1/1,5mm) foam bumper around the corners of camera glass, so it will never touch the surfaces.

What i can state is bv9500pro is a very tough phone, but there's no way it can be saved from EVERY shock. Maybe one day you drop it from 30 cm, but the screen falls right on a little piece of sharp stone, and your glass is gone.

You have only 2 weakeness in this phone, front glass and back camera glass: shell them and it will last years. (each time you have to replace a glass you are risking to permanently fu*k the waterproof/dustproof spec, unless you find right materials (as in the post above) and spend enough time repairing it.

This is the glass i use, from gearbest. https://it.gearbest.com/bv9500-pro-_gear/    if you're in europe i really suggest to buy at least the 3pcs pack... the glass is a very good 9H, very tough, sensitive, BUT with no accessory to install it (i use sucker to hand it, and isopropilic alcohol and micro-fiber sheets to clean dirt and dust).
You can find many others on Amazon, or Aliexpress and so on.

For the back camera glass i use a random plastic film (i cut a random one from any phone film)

About the foam: i'm testing confort and durability with a 3M bihadesive (the one for heavy duties) which is about 1mm thick. I cutted it about 1mm wide and placed all around the frame. On the front side of the foam i sticked a little piece of black insulating tape to avoid dirt and dust sticking on it.

I also cutted and sticked a plastic film on the top section of the front screen, right under the top speaker, to reach the protective glass, in order to prevent scratches on the proximity and light sensor and on the front camera glass.

Next time i'm changing the consumables, i'll make a video for you, 'tought the procedure is quite easy.

The whole process to fully shield the phone takes about 30 mins (if you have at least a bit of experience handing these materials)

True. But the foam pads i believe are more durable than the silicon itself. i don't know about the resistance and durability specs of the sanitary silicone since depending on the environement it may be subjected to some extreme temperature and loose sealing efficiency in the long time... while the only problem of the foam may be the glue loosing... but until you don't open the backcover, the sealing effect should be guaranteed...
Anyway: silicone is better if you use more in a wet or underwater environemet, while foam is better against dust, shocks and extreme temperatures...
