Factory reset

Sun May 12, 2019 9:13 am

Dear friends and Admin,
I intend to do a factory reset on my BV9500 pro. Since I am not a real expert I am totally afraid of loosing all my apps and personal data. Therefore I would be very grateful if someone could tell me step by step how I can backup apps and data and then perform the reset and - most important - to get the phone working normally again after the reset.
Thank you very much in advance for your patience and expertise!

Hi there!

Google directly backups your apps and data. After wiping the phone, let it restore the saved backup.

For important photos i also recommend you to download them on your PC.

..... Because Google doesn't back up everything. Just app data.

If you use the Google "Photos" app that comes with the phone, it has the ability to back your photos up to the Google cloud, but I think Google sets a limit on how much you can save there (at least they did last time I used it). And, it depends on the setting being enabled. Plus, that doesn't back up other files you've downloaded.

As I take photos of sensitive things from time to time, I always disable such spyware but now that I know about adups activities and that being preinstalled on this phone I may just quit using it for anything but phone and two way transceiver. I still have my old phone I can use.
