Bluetooth pairing credentials no longer working after update

Fri Apr 26, 2019 4:38 am

So, since the latest update, I now find the BV9500 no longer allows Bluetooth devices to pair with it. The problem occurs when it asks for a pin input from either device to verify credentials. For some reason, it kills the pairing request milliseconds after asking for a pin, so there's no chance of verifying the pin. This happens regardless of which device initiated the pairing request. Pairing via NFC works fine. I'm even more annoyed because I factory reset, the pairing still doesn't work, and now I'm not even able to pair with the devices I was paired with before the reset.
Hopefully this can be fixed easily and quickly.

I've had a similar issue ever since I first received my phone back last November....  and, it's persisted across now THREE [Edit, sorry, TWO] versions of the OS [I haven't had opportunity or reason to try on the latest version].

For me, the pairing is attempted, but fails.  I repeat.  I repeat again.  Approaching insanity, I keep repeating, and EVENTUALLY it asks me for a PIN.  I enter the PIN for my headset (1234 or 0000, I can never remember which) and if I enter the right one it pairs right up.  However, if I enter the wrong one, I have to repeat over and over again until finally it prompts me again.  By that time I usually forget whether I tried 1234 or 0000 and I try the same one again LOL

But as annoying as this is, I always forget to post about it because once I'm paired the problem is no longer a problem for me.  Thanks to OP for posting or else I'd never have remembered.  But yes, Admin, this is a problem.  The pairing subroutine never asks me to enter a PIN until after several failures.
