New update tested. It works fine for me too. No more problems with compass.

The OTA update fixed all problems with compass.
I'm also using the app Sensor Sense to monitor the raw datas from sensors, and it looks like the output now is coherent and costant with any app.
When checking beside a standard compass, i confirm the two compass stock apps point to the magnetic north.

Looks like the 2019-01-16 14:54 update is the one to aim for, rokkbert. It's the same one I have and my compass works properly now, too. Not to butt in, but since I saw the question I figured I'd answer.

Unfortunately I've noticed a couple of glitches work their way into the Intercom app with the update now but they're insignificant little things.
