Using as USB charging bank

Mon Mar 18, 2019 12:58 am

I just wanted to share that the BV9500 Pro can be used to charge other USB devices. I did not know this before today.

Thanks for sharing that, Colt.

That cable that has the female USB type A is called "USB OTG" or "USB On-The-Go", for those who are shopping to buy them for themselves.   They also have tiny little non-cable adapters that do the same thing, for those who want a rigid connection (though it would be quicker to break).  I've got a couple of each style in my work backpack for the unlikely time I'll need one.

I do recall seeing this shown in a video but it might have been a promo / ad or it might have been a review from one of those YouTubers who don't have as clear a grasp on English as you and I do.  Either way, any device that does USB OTG is capable of being used to charge other devices.  Of course, the smaller the battery capacity, the quicker it'll die doing this, but even a smaller battery like that in the older Samsungs would be sufficient for things like Bluetooth adapters.

Useful to know , as it can help in emergency case, but I think there is a risk to kill the BV9500 battery due to discharge current level when using as power bank !

Why? like admin says, bv9500 pro supports OTG, and to work it has to give power to devices (like usb sticks, or whatever the hell :) ...), so it's quite safe (assuming you connect safe devices... )
