This thread is now 3 Weeks old. Nothing happens or changed.

It is now common policy from Blackview to act dead on updates as well as on forum replies.
This says a lot from them: stay away if you are looking for a supportive brand.

The forums replies are anything than dead, as you can clearly see.
Updates are slow, i agree with you, but i also remember when updates were released once or twice a month and users complained about them being rushed...

Several real questions were asked, and no answers. Most answers lately concerns bugs being "transfered to tech team".
Earlier this summer, you annunced Oreo for the end of august. Then it was released ealier. Before that, in january, you said "no oreo for BV8000" and bam, é weeks later, Oreo was announced.
You also said there would not be any Nougat updates after Oreo was released. Meaning Oreo is the only ROM you have been working on for 3 month. This is more than slow. This is sloth slow.
This makes no sense and the total obscurity on the updates ETA is really not reassuring. This phone is more than 1 year old and still unusable because of software. I have a $200+ brick on my desk. Nice.

You want a real progress ? Release source codes, let the community make a good ROM. For itself, by itself, it makes perfect sense. You keep avoiding to say why you would not do that. Shady...

You're right, and it is because you are dodging questions.

I agree with the customers statement. The situation is quite clear; your tech team does not deliver after you sent out an dysfunctional Oreo. That caused a lot of grief for your customers. Your standard answer to problems used to be; Factory reset. Now it is; Forwarded to tech team. As I have indicated before, if you are happy with us forgetting Blackview and looking elsewhere for the next phone, just carry on not listening to your customers advise.

Really disappointed after reading this thread, this is my first blackview phone, and if this is the level of support customers get it will probably be my last - I bought the phone on the promise of a functional Oreo update

You're being unfair, sir.
1) The first official answer to most issues is to perform a factory reset. Never wondered why? Why, when you send your phone/PC to be repaired by an official repair center, they firstly perform a factory reset making you lose all your data? Well, if you can't think about an aswer, i'll give you one: because many issues are a consequence of sh**** apps installed by the user. In addition, with our phones, performing a firmware update not followed by a factory reset led to weird real issues (battery drain and sudden reboot still present after installing the update made to solve them... do you remember?). A factory reset is also useful to differentiate between software or hardware faults, expecially when the user writes about weird and never seen issues in a broken english. So, when i ask an user to perform a factory reset, there's a reason behind it. Like it or not.
2) About me forwarding deep software issues to the tech team... what do you expect from me? to edit the ROM on the fly for you? We have a tech team for such things, it's not the fastest or the most skilled, but they usually do their work. I forward issues to such team as soon as i can confirm them to be real issues. If you are not happy about me forwarding issues to be solved by firmware updates, i could ignore many of them.. giving you a real reason to complain about my work.

Why won't you release source codes ? AOSP is open source, and additionnaly, it would benefit the users a lot while lightening the workload for your tech team. No drawbacks for BlackView, a huge amount of advantages for both you and the customer. Refusal indicates something weird going on.

Why isn't there any kind of prioritization for older phones ? You keep releasing new phones while older phones have a lot of bugs. It seems really a bad way to make users come back when they need a new phone while giving a clear impression that you don't give a damn about user experience and only care about selling more and more phones. There is no way you will ever be able to fix all older phones bugs + the newer phones bug without letting the community work on the code.

Why is there absolutely no transparency about planning and delay ? Any company has deadline and should be able to reliably let curstomers know when an update is coming. In my "Oreo" example, there were several contradictory announcement: first, no oreo. 3 weeks later, Oreo. First release date, October (I think, not sure, not gonna use it against you). Then release in june. That is a great lot confusing and gives the impression that nobody has any idea about what they're doing. I'm not asking for 100% public planning (that I know is not possible), but just be reliable when announcing a release date instead of saying "I don't know".

Last note: I'm not complaining about you, "blackview_admin" as a person, not even about your answer themselves. I'm pretty sure you're just following your company policy, and it is that policy that I question. I think it is deeply flawed (based on your answers and updates) if your objective really is consumer satisfaction. Just for your information, I bought my BV8000Pro last year, early July (so not so long after release) and the phone is still sitting in my drawer because I'm really (really really...) disapointing in it. This means unless there is a big change in the way BV customers are dealt with, this is my first and last BV device (and I can't recommend a device that I'm not using). I thing there is nothing good about this situation for BlackView's commercial future.

Just jumping into this discussion to say: If you followed this forum before the release of the Oreo update (like I did), it must have been totally clear that this update would only do one thing: Bring even more problems on the BV8000 Pro. And exactly that has happened. That's the reason I did and will not install this update at any time. I am lucky enough to own an BV8000 Pro that isn't working perfect but good enough that I really like it and am able to use it as my main phone. It reboots now and then, not very often. The bluetooth connection is not the most stabile one, neither is WLAN. But both work most of the time and the rest also does. I had more problems with my Huawei P8 Lite before. But if you think logical... Blackview just released a new flagship, the BV9500 Pro. They will concentrate their work on it. You can't expect much support for the BV8000 Pro anymore. But that's not a problem of "cheap China companies". It's the way things work nowadays. New models are released minimum every year although the old ones would still be good enough. And "old" means... 1-2 years.
