Can the smart key be programmed to be the dedicated camera button (to take photos), instead of using the button on the screen? Thanks

It can be programmed only to launch apps, for the moment.

How difficult would it be to incorporate it with the next update?

It's currently available. Go to smart key under settings then choose off screen snapshot on any of the predefined clicks.

This works for me as I use one click smart key option to take a snapshot
