Hi guys. Can the smart key be programmed to be the dedicated camera button, instead of using the volume down key? Thanks

Yes , very easy to do.
Go to Settings \ Smart Key 
You have 3 options : 
One Click
Double Click
Long Press

I know how to do that but none of those options allow you to actually take the photo with that button, yes you can open the camera app with the options.
