i have the same problems with other users with the phone such as restarts and low battery duration . it barely makes the day with normal use .
I have followed the steps of the pdf for update via pc , download everthing , process completed with the latest rom , which is the 20171219_s21v57c2k_jk_tee.zip file .
However when the phone starts after the update seems to have completed , every step was done according to the instructions , the version shown is still the one that came with the phone .
a few days ago i received an OTA update that said it solved the battery and restart problem and it was then i decided to do a clean update to the phone , factory reset and all to make sure the phone will at last work properly .
But unfortunatelly after all that the phone still has version : bv8000pro-blackview-v0.1_20170803_20171227-1550 and it does not receive the rest of the OTA updates so that at least i can get the last update with the fixes ....

Can you please advice what could this mean ?

Very very weird problem, definitely.
Can you flash your device to the 20171219 version again? Maybe from another PC?
Remember also to perform a factory reset after the update.

But that one IS the latest version! It is from December 2017. The January OTA updates have not been pushed to everyone yet.

Well if it Is the last version indeed , then i feel a bit confused after comparing the version numbers on the site and on my phone .
However after all that process , phone has stopped restarting and battery lasted more than 2 days of normal operation which at last good .
its has been several day since then and the phone still works properly .
Today An ota update came and i decided to apply it . 5 minites later after the update was finished and the phone has booted properly it did 2 restarts . one of the restarts was 1 sec after i noticed a notification at the top of the screen saying something about sim processor with an
exclamation mark .
I will continue monitoring the phone and update you as time passes ....

Also , after the latest OTA update battery life again dropped significally .... About 3 hours after the update battery has gone from 70% to 40 % ... i just wish i didn't do the update .... back to daily charge .
Also another issue that appered after the last OTA update has to do with program shortcuts . i have multiple shortcuts of the same program and i cannot delete them . only if i unistall the app and reinstall it again . but as soon as my phone is plugged in to charge then automatic program updates start and i get again double app shortcuts and there is no longer the option to simply delete it .....

I reccomend you to navigate in to the "service and tech" section and look for threads about similar issues.
If you can't find these, feel free to open one or more new threads for each problem.

Before opening new threads about issues PLEASE perform a factory reset (it should be done after every update!) and check (and report) your firmware version.
