[SOLVED] How to perform a firmware update?

Sat Jul 29, 2017 7:14 pm

Hello, I just brought the new BV8000 pro and I've noticed that I cannot take clear photos because the rear camera does not focus on subject. On the forum I've found a firmware update that I downloaded but I don't know how to perform a firmware update. Can you guys show me how to do it?
Thank you!

I've added a simple overview to the download thread. viewtopic.php?f=192&t=213272&p=398849#p398849
Later we will also provide a flashing tutorial.

Process to make a firmware update:

-1- Get the ZIP rom file from this web site on your PC. [ sample : AAAAA.ZIP ]
-2- Copy AAAAA.ZIP file from your PC to a SD card
-3- shutdown your BV8000 phone
-3- install the SD card into your BV8000 phone
-4- power on your your BV8000 phone
-5- mount the SD card ( without formating it ! ) as an external card.
-6- copy AAAAA.ZIP file from the external card to the internal card [ into /download directory
-7- go to "parameters"
-8- look for "About the phone" [ last option : in french " A propos du telephone " ] enter into this option
-9- choose the first open at the buttom : " update " [ in french " Mise à jour " ]
-10- choose the 3 little point at the right buttom
-11- choose " local updates" [in french " Mises à jour locales " ]
-12- choose " internal storage" [in french " Stackage interne " ]
-13- look for the /download directory and enter in it
-14- select the file AAAAA.zip

now here is what going to happen:
- the phone will quicly auto-restart and the screen will be black
- At this step you will be very scared and start to ask yourself if you should not have get an other idea today !!!
- After 30 secondes max a message will show " update is running " ( or something like that )
- Since you are smart and patient you will let your phone does it work ...
- The phone will auto-restart again.
- you are at the last step : it is finished ;)

Sometime you will check if the date of the firmware has changed .... I confirm that update version 20170718 to 20170804 does NOT change the firmware version ( build number ) but i have no idea why ! :?:
I suppose the dev has forget to change this but the dev is the best person to confirm this information ...

Hope it helps.
