You can find instructions here: https://romprovider.com/2017/07/firmware-blackview-bv8000-pro/

Just be sure to select "Download only" mode on the dropdown box, not "Firmware upgrade" or ""Format all + Download".

The drivers should already be installed, and the phone switched off and disconnected from the pc. The phone should be connected to the pc (still switched off) AFTER you hit the "Download" button. When you see the "OK" message, just unplug the phone, switch it on, and wait for it to boot (it will take some time).

Thank you very much. Will try tonight. I also tried at another pc with windows xp and still getting the same message. I think it might have to do something with the drivers but I don't know what, since the last time it work fine.

I've never needed to keep volume up button pressed to flash. I've been using version 5.1728.00.000 of the SP Flash Tool app.

The first time I plugged the phone in while off, the pc started installing drivers (I think this are called "preloader" drivers), and now, when I plug it in after clicking the download button within SP Flash Tool app, I hear the "device detected" sound and the flashing process begins right away.

I guess you're forcing the device intro recovery mode, maybe you need to do that because of the drivers you have installed. Anyway, either method seems to work, so users should try and see which one works for them.

Can any other user confirm that?

For recovery you have to press power + volume up button together and when blackview logo appears u have to release power button and then press again and afterwards press volume up button
so just turning phone off and keep pressing voulme up button while connecting to a pc cant force it to go in recovery but in download mode.

To access into recovery mode you'll have to press BOTH power and vol+. Pressiong only the vol+ button won't lead you into recovery mode ;)

Official tutorial on how to enter into recovery mode, just for reference:

How long does it take to finish? It is connectd for 10 minutes now and still no sign of "OK" message. Also it shows 0 B/s on the bottom so I suppose nothing is happening. Tell me it will not brick my phone if I stop the procedure now.
