OTA or not OTA? That is the question

Thu Jan 18, 2018 4:16 pm

Dear,

I'm writing this text to ask you when are you going to put the update "BV8000Pro_blackview_20171219" in OTA?

All the owners of this phone are not geeks or engineers knowing how to update manually.

The last update in OTA dates from 2017.10.11, and since then there has been:

BV8000Pro_blackview_20171114
BV8000Pro_blackview_20171219
BV8000Pro_blackview_20171227
BV8000Pro_blackview_20180105 (coming soon)

Thank you for your reply :-)

The latest released OTA update was the 20180105 one, wich unfortunately was stopped due to its major bugs.
OTA updates tend to be cumulative, that's why you won't always find previous OTA versions.
In addition, OTA delivery can't be predicted: some devices get them in time, other's don't.
I reccomend to wait for the upcoming new one ;) .

If you don't want to wait, or if you want some more control on updates, stick to the flashing route ;)
It's not hard at all if you follow our tutorial ;)

Thank you for responding so quickly ;)

I already try to update my BV6000 with the tutorial, but I have failed.
It may seem easy for a technician or a geek, but for a John Doe, it's not.

Also I'm really afraid of my brick BV8000 pro, and as I love it (for me, it's the best smartphone in the world), it's a risk that I do not want to take :(

I am reassured that the update in OTA is for soon, I just have to be patient!

A new OTA update will surely come soon ;)

Side note: remember that OTA updates are not mandatory. You can pospone them... you don't need to install every single OTA update wich comes out if your device is working in a good way for your needs ;)
