Discussion about root and modding of BV8000 Pro

Mon Oct 22, 2018 12:45 pm

I created this new thread to allow people to talk about root without go off topic in other threads.
I opened a discussion in another thread with a member and I would like to know more about root and modding, because I didn't find anything on the web.
I would like to know if a version of Lineage OS is available for this device, as the community for modding is poor.

I moved this topic out of the Android OREO service and tech subforum. ;)

There's no way anyone can compile a LineageOS version compatible with this phone unless Blackview release the kernel sources, which they have already said they won't. The stock rom kernel is not compatible unless recompiled and adapted for LineageOS compatibility.

I found a firmware, but at this point I think that it isn't real...
If anyone want to try I will send the link, but I do not take any responsibility.

If it's the same one I found, it's fake. You can trust me, you can't compile LineageOS if you don't have the kernel sources.

I saw this video about the porting of and Android ROM...
Here the link: https://youtu.be/8ZKOo50bo48
It is possible try to convert the ROM without source code?
The only requirements are: a backup of your stock rom and a custom rom of a device with the same Mediatek version, in this case MT6757 I think.
So if it is possible I could try it!
