Hi everyone - could use some help here.  I manage a large team collecting data in the field on BV8000Pros (running Android version 7.0).  When they bring devices to the office, I must connect them to a PC and download their collected data - I do this up to 30 times in a day!  Every time I connect the device, the USB connection defaults to "charge this device" and I have to do a few extra steps to get it to the "transfer files" connection type.  I am wanting to set the default USB connection to "transfer files" to save me some steps and have tried the suggestions here using Developer Mode (https://www.addictivetips.com/android/how-to-set-the-default-usb-connection-type-in-android-6-0/) but they don't seem to work on my BV8000Pros.  Even with Developer Mode on and following instructions on that link, it still defaults to "charge the device."

Hi there! does this happen to ALL of your bv8000 pro devices? Whats the firmware version of these?

I confirm I had the same issue when I was using my bv8000pro (I am not using it the last months). I remember this issue was present no matter what ROM I had on the phone. I never found a way to fix this. Just another issue that won't be fixed...

I can't reproduce such behaviour on my BV8000 Pro. I set it to be in "file transfer" mode, and it is always in such mode when i plug it on my PC.
I'd suggest you to flash your devices to the november 2017 firmware followed by a factory reset.

I'm currently using the 20170803 build.  I think I'd like to try flashing to see if it will fix the problem.  Why do you suggest november 2017 and not the latest one?  Also, I have found some tutorials about flashing (seems a bit complicated but think I can handle it?) but still not able to find the best place to get the official firmware.  Can you please point me in the right direction?

I suggest you to flash the device to 20171114 firmware version, because i'm sure it will work in a correct way for your needs.

Hi Admin, it took me a while but I think that I successfully flashed to the 20171114 firmware version as you suggested but I am still having the same result.  See screenshot below to see if I did it correctly?  I set the USB connection to "file transfer" mode, unplug it, but when I plug back in it goes back to "charging only" mode every time.  I tried the developer mode trick again but it is still not working.  Can you provide any other suggestions?  I am still looking for a solution to make the default USB connection to "file transfer."  Thanks in advance...

did you perform a factory reset after the firmware downgrade?
