Fingerprint Reader options missing

Hello
Today I noticed that the fingerprint reader stopped working.
I tried to find the settings but they're missing.
I only had the phone for 2-3 weeks and everything was fine until today.
I did not install anything at all and did not have any updates as far as I know. It just disappeared by itself.
I read some previous comments online about missing fingerprint readers and could not find any solution. From what I read resets don't work either.
Is this a common bug with these phones or is there something that can be done?
