[SOLVED] Weird behaviour between camera and flashlight

I wrote some times in different topics on this forum about my "problem" with the flashlight on my phone and it never get me anywhere, so I am starting a new thread about it and hope someone else is having the same "problem" so Blackview may look into it and find a solution.

I came to the conclusion there is a strange thing happening between the stock camera app and the flashlight, after believing for a month or so I was having a hardware problem, because my flashlight isn't always working.

Example: Right now I can turn on the flashlight and use it as much as I want, turn it off and on again without having any issues. If I open the camera app to get a photo, sometimes not always, the flash isn't working leading afterwards on making the flashlight also dead. The drop down icon turns green but there is no light on the LED. If I reopen the camera app and use it sometimes, suddenly the flash turns on again and the flashlight is back on working also.

I first found out about it when I wrote to another topic three months ago (viewtopic.php?f=191&t=341604&start=20) and having firmware 20171219 but the problem continued through all the updates even the last one 20180308. Now I am having 20180124 because I rolled back due to this problem (viewtopic.php?f=191&t=369542).
I always flashed the firmware and did factory reset afterwards. The battery was always fully charged or at least at 80%.

I am writing to see if anyone else has also came up to this problem or can reproduce it, because I really don't think this is a hardware problem. The use of the flashlight is becoming strange only if I open the camera app. If someone wants to try it please let me know of it.

Thank you

Can you test the Open Camera App and report back? I can't reproduce such issue in my BV8000Pro.

Same thing. At the moment my flashlight isn't working.

To use the flashlight as a torch, are you using the stock quick settings tile, or a thrid party app? I was using a third party app, and sometimes, when I tried to open the camera app, it would refuse, saying that it coudln't connect to the camera. If you're using s third party app, it may be blocking your camera or flashlight.

I am using the quick settings tile. I also tried with some other apps but it is working only when the stock app works, when it refuses to turn on it does it on all apps, cameras or flashlight. At the time it is working. I can not exactly reproduce the problem. It comes and goes at random. The only thing I can do is open and close the camera app sometimes and press the screen to have focus and sometimes the flash turns on but as I said not always. It may not turn on while in the camera app but when I try the torch it will. It can be a one time thing or it may be working for days.

Considering that
- this issue survived to firmware updates and factory resets
- i never heard about that from other users in this forum
- I can't reproduce that on my BV8000 pro
in my opinion is an hardware fault.

I know it is a weird thing but
-there might be a glitch in the firmware that is not fixed from one version to another (they don't make it from scratch)
-not everyone bought this phone writes on the forum, also that's why I started this topic in case there is someone else having the same problem
-it means you are luckier than me for sure
I am considering a faulty charging board causing this, since it is the main source of other problems (reboots, mic and speaker problems and signal strength).
Maybe a member working on service (Neville I am talking to you!!!!) can give us more infos.

I'm thinking of a faulty charging board too.... Let's see if this happens also to other users!

I found a page online concerning my problem and it was saying to clean the cache and the data of camera and flashlight app and restart the phone. I gave it a try and after the restart the flashlight wasn't working. I opened the camera app and saw that the flash was set to off because of the data clear, so I switched it to auto and gave it another try and it worked. I don't know for how long it will but it is more or less a sign that something is going on with the software, not only concerning Blackview but Android itself since the page I found had nothing to do with Blackview.
