Just intalled the new OTA update. Now it seems that "Background task clear" can't be turned off anymore. Although it's switched to "Off", all background tasks are terminated as soon as the phone goes to sleep mode. No WhatsApp, no 3D parallax wallpapers, no push notifications, nothing.

As a workaround I switched "Background task clear" to "On" now and put ALL apps on the white list. Now everything works as before.

Oh, and I now have "system somatosensory" in the settings menu which wasn't called like that before.

Edit:
"Shortcut flashlight" not working anymore (turning on flash light by long pressing home button while on lock screen).

Did you perform a factory reset after the update?

No. But I'm not the only one with that exact problems, another one in the german forum has them now.

Please ALWAYS perform a factory reset after each update, or strange issues like that may appear.

Yeah, you say that every time. Do you do that yourself on your phone after every update? Because it's much work to re-install and configure all apps again. And it's not sure that it will even help. So that's always the very last thing for me to do. Let's wait if others who DID a factory reset also have that problems

Nobody forces you to perform updates as they come, you can also wait some time -even months!- if you don't have any major problems to get fixed asap (as the battery drain problem was, for example).

I have to wait for others that actually made a factory reset before flagging any issue as a real problem to be sent to the tech team
We don't want the tech team to go crazy

My only problem were the reboots. Sure, let's just wait - I just wanted to mention the problem in case anyone else has it.

I have also reboot-problem.

For factory reset, indeed I won't do it if it isn't mandatory. I have many 2 factor auth things bind to my phone, and it would be quite a big task to get them up again. For some of them, I would need activate new, put it to other phone, and then factory reset phone, and activate one new with that auth on another phone. And few of them require ordering new activation from some service desk.

A factory reset after each update is highly recommended, practically mandatory to avoid strange issues. A firmware update, if your phone works as it should, isn't mandatory by the way

I guess that you haven't performed a factory reset after the latest update, right?

User Nehleb confirmed the background task clear bug after a factory reset, so i'm now tracking this issue as a real problem to be fixed.
