Silcencing the jingle will be, in my opionion, a silly fix: if we silence the jingle , you won't neither know if your device has rebooted. Wich it means that, if you have a pin to be confirmed, your device will remain INACTIVE and you won't be aware of that.

Well, I disagree : When one's phone has fingerprint unlocking, backed up with code unlocking, it's silly to use a sim card pin code.
I rooted my phone so I could replace the startup mp3 file with a silent one and don't have a sim card pin code so I don't care about reboots 8-)

Fingerprint unlock won't work without a DEVICE pin, unless rooting. I'm not talking about SIM pin, wich i consider almost redundant and not so useful nowdays.

So I don't understand... I have fingerprint unlock with a device pin and without sim card pin. When I reboot the phone it is able to receive phone calls and I can answer them right away without unlocking it; I just tried this.

I use fingerprint unlocking on mine with a PIN...I just DON'T require a separate pin on device restart...so when my phone reboots it reboots to phone mode, not pre-boot mode. It still can't be unlocked without a fingerprint or PIN, but it means the radio services are live, reboot problem solved.

I am not convinced it is a hardware fault, and you have not explained why any of the replacement boards would not have same fault. As for PIN, users can choose to deactivate startup PIN if they have to.

When you can provide hard evidence that it is a hardware fault, we will all be clapping. But the reboots began after one of the recent updates...

Are you from the tech team? Are you a technician? What are your qualifications?
Our tech team, people wich CREATE smartphones from zero, reported that statement after studying the case, so your opinion's value is almost null at this time.
As i told in the previous posts -that you should definitely read more carefully before writing- , more details about this hardware failure WILL COME.

I have been involved in IT since 1988. I am on intimate terms with the engineering team behind a major national mobile network, and I have been a mobile phone retailer since 1999. It was my advice that helped you solve the camera focus problem early on. Apart from all that, I have no connection to this industry. What would I know?

I told what i told just because i never had sudden reboots to test, so, in a testing purpose, i rebooted manually my device and a device PIN was obivously requested to pass the pre-boot mode and to get the radio services alive. If you confirm that sudden reboots are atypical in this way, so it means that they, if a SIM pin is not set, will let you pass the pre-boot mode without asking for the start device pin, removing the jingle could be a nice palliative (but in the end not a solution). I will ask the tech team about this possibility. ;)

Thanks for your cooperation on the camera problem.

Chris, go to Settings/Security/Screen lock (PIN)/PIN and do not require a PIN to start device. (deactivate Secure Start up setting)..it will then reboot to active phone mode, not pre-boot
