The bug has been already tracked and forwarded to the tech team for a fix.
Unfortunately there's nothing more i can suggest you do to except trying the Alep workaround or factory resetting your device.

As a general rule, ALWAYS make a backup of your valuable data... smartphones can get broken easily (...and also personal computers!)

That's right, of course, and I do backup my data, but sometimes even one day makes difference..
Back to the topic, I finally get my phone accepting PIN by rebooting couple of times. Lucky me!

Yeah, definitely lucky ;)

Yes, it did. Though it allowed me to use a different option. After using the Screenshot option and clicking "settings" I used the camera button on the side to access images on my phone. This led to the option of image sharing where I was able to access my email and the rest of the phone features. I was able to back up my phone and later reset it.
Unfortunately, this pin code issue keeps recurring and was back to check if a permanent fix was found. Any progress with that?

I have the same problem. 4 times now my pin Code changed by itself. All the hints here doesn't work on my phone. It always wants the Code. Only the hardcore wipe is working to reset the phone. It is realy annoying. Please get your stuff done.

In the mean time tech team sorts this issue, you can flank it using the smartlock option (the presence of a near bluetooth device will unlock your phone)
