Had no reboots for more than 2 months now after upgrading via OTA to 20180307-1950. Yesterday they suddenly came back and I had 2 reboots in only 2 days. I had the exact same situation once before.

Did you perfom a factory reset after the OTA update?

I ask it every time for a reason.....
If you update your phone and don't perform a factory reset, you can face an unexpected behaviour, as, for example, the came back of the reboot issue.

That's what you say. But do you have any prove that a factory reset is really necessary after every update? I doubt it. It's just your standard answer. And if you read different mobile phone forums, most of them say a factory reset is absolutely NOT necessary. Also most of the people here who had a problem and did a factory reset after that still had the same problem.

It reminds me of the people who recommend you to wipe your Windows installation and do a "reset" no matter what problems you have. Which also is total bullshit. If something in my house is not working I also do not break it down and build a new one.

No offend, it's just my experience.

I respect your experience, but i can tell that a factory reset solved many problems. One of them, that i remember clearly, was about the battery drain issue still present after the update wich was released to solve it.I know what i say.
Have you ever gave a phone to a repair center? the first thing the do, even if they have to replace the LCD display, is to reset your device to the factory state. Guess why :)

If the phone is rooted you can just delete the sound file located here..
/system/media
If you delete the start up and shut down animations aswell it just reverts to a stock android logo ;)

Hi,
my phone also started to randomly reboot itself (day, night and while charging) but only after the flashing to OREO (with factory reset)

Ok, i have tried lately to update to the android 8.0 twice, with local update, it imitated the update process, but didn't update, i still have same version oof android 7.0 that I had. But after those attempts, it started to reboot at night, i noticed that it does that at the same time at night, and only once a night, seems like some timer in it. So, i have set in the option of automatic update, update only via wi-fi, and turned the wi-fi off for the night, and guess what, it did not crush and did not reboot...
