Well I am not sure I use CPU Spy correctly but it shows that the CPU is running at 1690 MHz as max speed which I guess is below the max speed of the MT6757 processor. Maybe it only shows the first cluster (cores 1-4). However I tried with CPU-Z and Kernel Adiutor and they all show information similar to AIDA64.

Admin, thank you for posting your pictures. At least now I know I am not the only one with "hardware fault".

Your phone is overheating: it's enough to tell that you have an huge and abnormal hardware issue wich can be approached only by replacing your device under warranty.

Hello,

I have a similar problem. My BV8000pro also gets uncomfortably hot. It does not matter which application I use, whether applications are open in the background or not, the device gets completely warm and not just on the metal edge. I can still touch it, but it is unpleasant.
It only cools down when I turn off the display.
Also, the battery discharges faster and faster. Sometimes not even a workday is enough.

I also did some screenshots with CPU Spy and with CPU-Z. I have no idea if these values are normal or not. But to have a hot device at low load, I find not normal. What should I do?

My device has the V0.1_20170803_20180228-1557

And yes, after the latest OTA I did a Factory reset.

As stated in previous posts of this topic, overheating can't be considered normal.
You'll have to contact you seller to have your device replaced under warranty.

JessiM, I am very curious to see if your seller will replace your device under warranty because of such issue (overheating). I am almost 100% sure all BV8000 devices are performing just like mine (and yours). It is just e personal opinion of whether a person thinks his device is overheating or not. Some people are just making like 1-2 phone calls per day and noting more and will never feel the overheating. If you are playing games and using apps long time during the day you should see something is very wrong with this phone. It has the most horrible CPU management I have ever seen. In fact when the CPU has a low load (like sitting on the lock screen) its powerful cores (4,5,6,7) are at max speed (2.4GHz). When there is a load (like a 3D game) the CPU cores clock drops to 800MHz or 1200MHz and the games are lagging. It is quite clear the people who write the firmware have no idea what they are doing. Just look how many version of the FW were removed because of critical bugs like not able to charge. Not to mention that this phone has a tons of other issue...
JessiM, my suggestion is to use this phone are much as you can and then switch to another brand.

1) About the phone not sleeping while in low load, please refert to this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=191&t=369542
If your device doesn't sleep correclty while in no load, please downgrade to 20171219, 20171227 or 20180124 firmwares.

2) Overheating is not normal, even more so if having a low load. No, all the BV8000s are behaving normally. Only few have such issue! and should be replaced under warranty.
I use my BV8000Pro everyday. I know about what i'm taking about...

1. I think we are not talking about the same thing. My phone DOES NOT have the issue "not entering sleep/deep sleep". When I turn off the screen it enters deep sleep and it has very little consumption and is also cold. The problem is when the phone is awake with the screen on. The moment you turn the screen on all BIG cpu are at max speed (2.4gHz) and stays there forever when keeping the phone at the launcher app. The launcher app should not use a high amount of cpu and I don't understand why the cpu cores should be at 2.4gHz in the launcher app. Later if I start a 3D game with high cpu demand the BIG cpu cores goes to 1.2 GHz - this it just ridiculous. Of course the game lags a lot. Later after exiting the game and going back to the launcher app - BIG cpu cores at 2.4GHz immediately. This is absolutely wrong and I am not going to waste any more time to discuss this.

2. Like I said the high temperature "problem" is very "personal". You may think it is normal - I may think it is not. It is just a personal opinion. In fact my opinion is based on two observations:
- my previous experience with other phones (more than 15 different brand, models, years....)
- I have a BV7000 pro too and it is a different model of Blackview and it suffers the same issue - the CPU behavior is the same as described in point 1 and also when playing games it gets very hot. So lets say I may have a defective BV8000, however the BV7000 was ordered at different time and it is a different model, however because of the same wrong controlled CPU it has the same temperature problems.

Again this is just my opinion and observations and I am just sharing them.
PS: I reverted my BV8000 to the 20171227 FW long time ago, because this will be the last good firmware for this phone (again personal opinion).

Hi,

my BV800pro is overheating too when I use WAZE (navigate app) with screen on (and data on) - It heats to 56deg C. Than I switched off screen and temperature decreased)
Presently :V0.1-20170803-20180307-1950, OTA, no factory. reset.
Two or tree month ago ( with OTA January FW and factorry reset) same issue with system worning: "Temperature of baterry is hight - 60degC"
My phone has problem with deep sleep (CPU spy reported only few seconds a day) and I need charger every day.
Q: Is there any chance to solve problem with deep sleep and also with overheatin by flashing recomended downgrade to 20171219, 20171227 or 20180124 firmwares.?
Or any other suges?

Downgrading will definitely solve the deep sleep issue, and will also help keeping a lower temperature.

all your arguments are just arguments and they are mistaken unequivocally! The fact is that you use non-compatible applications to monitor the performance of the processor. you are all too lazy to sort through the applications and you use only the usual ones.

Install the application 3C System Tuner Pro  and see how the kernels of both clusters work.
