Battery Drain with phone powered off: Faulty Unit?

Mon Oct 22, 2018 3:19 pm

I just bought a blackview 8000 PRO.
As I received the phone I updated succesfully the firmwware to the Oreo BV8000Pro_blackview_2018062921 version.
Updated the phone I charged the battery to 100% and powered off the phone (long pressing the power off button and selecting the "power off" option).
I left the phone for two days in his box.
After the two days, the phone was powered on and the battery was about 60%... so 40% of battery drain with phone switched off!
I recharged it to 100% before the night and leaved it on stand-by with 1 SIM.
Tomorrow morning the phone was about to 50%.

I think that my unit is defective, but before proceding to the return I would be pleased to know if the behaviour that I encountered can be due to some know issue of the Firmware (and can be fixed flashing a previous firmware version).

Any help and/or information would be very apreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
guti

Hi there. Can you please perform a factory reset and try again?

Thank you for your response.
Yes, I did it last night.
Now I just powered on the phone... I will leave it today powered on and tonight switched off in order to check if battery drain is still present.
I will report tomorrow the results.

Factory reset will not probably solve your problem and admin knows it. Most of us have the same problem...... We are waiting for a new update...

Yesterday night, after over 12hours with no use, the phone was at 92%.
I configured it downloading a lot of application and backup data and when I went to bed it was at 84%.
I powered it off in order to check if the battery drain with the phone powered off was still present.
Tonight, after 24h, the phone was at 84%... so no more battery drain, at least for now.

It seem that the reset worked, so it was not an HW issue but a SW issue.
I have to say that this 'adventure' was not a good start for the phone, so I'm actually a bit confused.
I have even few more days for returning the phone so I will evaluate if it is the case in these days.

Thanks to all for your response and for your help!

A factory reset can solve the majority of the weird issues. As I always stated in this forum.
