Hi Neville. mine is also giving me a huge headache with a faulty mic. Can you help me by sending a photo or ref of that (new) charging board?

i'm from Portugal and it will be lenty of expensive to sent it to china.. (and time consuming)
Thanks

There is a Russian teardown video of charge board replacement here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gqXcHqiPQA

Mic and speaker both get powered via chargeboard.

However, I DO now have a customer phone with distorted speaker that was NOT fixed by chargeboard replacement. Only option is to replace speaker. You have to dig it out, existing speaker will break, and clean out the sealant completely, then paste new sealant, insert new speaker, wait till it dries and reassemble. If you are not confident about doing that you will need to purchase a new back cover unit, which includes speaker and mic.

You can if you are careful do it yourself, but it involves stripping the entire phone down and reassembling it in new case. A wiser suggestion would be buy the back cover (USD30) and pay a professional phone repair store to do the work...an hour's labour.

Well, it took me 3 complete hours but I managed to replace the speaker. Now it works fine. As expected the problem with it was fine metal powder of grinding which reached to the speaker. Admin, can you please report that "problem" to the right department so you can design a phone completely covered by these kind of "accidents" . It would be a must among us people working in metal industry and for me a replacement phone after the BV8000 Pro I have now.

Yeah, metal grinding dust is a known issue!

I've had my BV 8000 Pro for about 5 months and about a month ago my speaker volume is very very low won't turn up. And I work in a machine shop. could this be from fine metal? Or is there a way to fix? So aggravated about this. Thanks.

Yeah, metal dust could be the culprit.
The only solution will be replacing the speaker.

It is very possible and unfortunately the only solution is to open the phone and either replace the speaker or maybe you could try and clean it with compressed air but with the risk of ripping it. Opening the phone is not so difficult, the problem comes when you have to clean the old silicon and install new, because the gap is between the speaker and the body is very small. For mine I don't think it is IP68 rated anymore  but I don't mind since the only protection I wanted was by rain drops ;) .

It sounds like you are having a more serious damage than me. Maybe your board is broken. If you think you can give it a try just follow the video showing how to open the phone and after that carefully remove the silicon around the speaker until you are able to take it out. It is not difficult to do so. The only thing you have to take care is to remove as much of the silicon as you can so you can have a clean surface for the new sealant you will use. I used  simple clear silicon applied with a toothpick and a needle!!! Let it dry for some time and then reassemble the phone. Be extra careful on the wire connections.

Hi, read these post with interest. I also had a problem with the speaker. I replaced the old ones. The problem seemed to be fixed but one thing is very strange: the startup tune of the phone is very, very loud despite the low soundlevel i did set. When the phone is in operation mode the sound is as set normally. It looks like there is more than one setting.
Is there a background (root) setting on this phone?

Ok I've just replaced the charging board in a BV9000 pro. It's not as straight forward as it looks. Unclip the gps plug then unsolder the speaker. then unsolder the mic then unclip the ribbon connector and then undo the only screw. sounds easy ???. Nah. Then the reverse with the new board sounds easy "eh". So I turned it on and all good but no speaker sound "F" so I checked all the solder joints all good. So lucky for me I bought three new boards and fitted another new one But still the same "F" So I figured that I may have damaged the speaker on removal. so I checked online and couldn't find one the same. So I thought that I had better reassemble it till I could find a new one.  But as soon as the last couple of screws were tightened the speaker started working. I had a similar problem with a AGM X1 so keep that in mind
